Jaipur: Students of nearly 15 schools in the city will go door-to-door and encourage people to save the lives of others through organ donation. The students will speak to nearly 6000 city residents to know their opinion on organ donation as part of an educational survey on the subject.

The students and the faculty of nearly 15 schools took part in a two-day workshop organized on the subject of organ donation at Edify World School located near Badkebalaji on Ajmer Road. The workshop is being organized in association with Mohan Foundation, Jaipur Citizen Forum and Jaipur Sahodaya.

Eidfy World School principal Sandeep Sethi said the main objective of the workshop is to train teachers and students to conduct an educational survey on whether the city residents have awareness about organ donation. Students of class X and XII will participate in the survey. They will visit households and speak to at least 6000 people.

“We will try to come up with a program to spread awareness about organ donation by evaluating the results of the survey,” Sethi said.

Most people are not aware that a person can save lives of at least eight others by donating organs.

Sethi added that CBSE students of streams like Entrepreneurship, Economics and Social Studies already have research and survey projects in their curriculum.

“The survey on organ donation will be first of its kind project that can be counted as part of the studies for students of these streams,” said Sethi.
