Students elections in Rajasthan to be completed in less than 2 weeks
Measure taken to ensure minimum impact on academic activities.

Jaipur: Elections for student unions in Rajasthan will be completed in less than two weeks. The Rajasthan government will ask student unions, universities and student leaders to complete the entire election process – from nomination and election campaigns to result announcement in less than two weeks. The measure has been taken to ensure that academic activities are not affected by elections. It will also reduce chances of ruckus that is usually created by students during elections. The government has taken a lesson from the previous student elections where situation went out of control several times as the election process took nearly a month. The elections were completed in three phases by August 31. The student elections were announced on August 3, 2016. The election took place on August 17 in Udaipur, August 31 in Jaipur and on August 24 at several other places. It led to ruckus on university campuses across the state. This year, the government has decided to announce dates for student elections in the nick of time.
