JAIPUR: The supporters of Rajasthan University president Nirmal Choudhary and those of general secretary Arvind Jajra got into a fight on a public platform after Jajda allegedly slapped Choudhary in full public view. The supporters created a ruckus during the inauguration of the student union office of Maharani College. The incident took place in the president of union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
After the incident, Nirmal Choudhary said that he was invited as a guest for the program, but a certain section of student leaders indulged in hooliganism openly there.
“I am not afraid of this. I am not a goon. As long as I am alive, I will continue fighting for student welfare. This hooliganism is not going to stop me from carrying out my duties towards students,” said Choudhary.
The student union office of Maharani College was inaugurated by Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. During this, Jaipur Prant Pracharak of RSS Dr. Shailendra Kumar was the chief guest whereas singer Akhil was to perform.
Arvind Jajra won on an ABVP ticket in the Rajasthan University elections held last year. Nirmal Choudhary who was earlier associated with NSUI won as an independent candidate.
After Jajra slapped and pushed Choudhary, their supporters gathered on the platform raised for the ceremony and started a fistfight.
