The minister was inaugurating the building of a girls’ hostel when she made this announcement. It has come as good news for student leaders and their supporters who have been waiting for the government to announce the election dates.

NSUI supporters staged a protest when the inauguration program was taking place. They shouted slogans and demanded that the government should announce the election dates.

Student union elections will be closely watched by political experts as they are taking place ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Rajasthan. Congress-supported NSUI and BJP-supported ABVP candidates and their supporters will leave no stone unturned to win the elections.
