Jaipur: Rajasthan high court on Tuesday quashed the petition seeking REET Level – 2 exams be re-conducted amid suspicions of paper leak and lifted the stay imposed on releasing the exam results. It has come as good news for lakhs of candidates who appeared in the REET exam and were waiting for the results to be announced.
The bench of Justice VS Saradhana directed that REET results can be released. One Kamlesh Meena had filed a petition alleging that the G-series paper of REET exam 2018 conducted on February 11 leaked on social media about an hour before the exam was to begin. The petitioner alleged that certain government officials were informed of the paper leak, but no action was taken. The petitioner also demanded a SOG or CBI probe into the paper leak.
After hearing the petition, the court stayed the REET (Level – 2) – 2018 results. The court had also issued notices to principal secretary of education and secretary of Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education.
All the parties concerned presented their arguments before the bench. Petitioners who were affected by the stay on the results argued that only one petitioner was alleging paper leak. NO FIRs or complaints were registered with the police in this regard.
The court on Tuesday lifted the stay. Lakhs of students had appeared in the REET exam 2018 on February 11 and they had been waiting for the high court order in this regard.
