Sooraj Kanwar murder: Arrested husband wanted to kill 17-year-old son also

Jaipur: The police arrested a man, identified as Gajendra Singh in connection with the murder of his wife Sooraj Kanwar (37) at her house near Sangam colony of Banar in Jodhpur on November 27.

Gajendra Singh Chauhan is the elder brother of BJP head of Ratanada Mandal Jethu Singh.
The accused Gajendra Singh Chauhan (42) had been suffering from depression for a long time. He planned to commit suicide after killing her wife Sooraj and son Kushal (17). He first killed his wife and went to kill his son at his room on November 27 but couldn’t muster the courage. His son Kushal became aware of his intentions and fought back.

Gajendra then made up the whole story of robbery scene to trick the police and family members. He convinced his son Kushal not to tell anyone.
According to the police, the accused Gajendra was in debt of more than Rs 60 lakh. He was not able to pay the money back and went into depression. He planned to commit suicide after killing his wife Sooraj and son Kushal.
After Kushal realized his father intentions, Gajendra tried to convince him not to tell anyone.
Kushal told the truth to his relatives and they informed the police on Tuesday. He narrated what had actually happened.
Police arrested Gajendra Singh and booked him for homicide and other crimes.
As revealed in the investigations, Gajendra has already been to jail for two years for killing a pregnant woman in Jammu and Kashmir.
The story made up by accused Gajendra was that some unidentified masked men knocked on their home’s door around 4 am on November 27. The deceased Sooraj Kanwar went to open the door and robbers slit her throat with a knife. After hearing the cries for help, her husband Gajendra and son came to the main gate. The accused men attacked them with the knife too. All the three victims went unconscious and the miscreants took the jewelry and cash from the house and ran away.
