Soon, apply for learning license online in Jaipur

Jaipur: You will soon be able to apply for learning license for driving online in Rajasthan. The transport department is working on a project that will enable applicants to get learning license from the comfort of their homes. The applicants will get a copy of the learning license online. So they won’t have to visit DTOs and RTOs to obtain the license.

The department is planning to implement the online learning license families following the amendments in the Motor Vehicle Act.

“We are preparing a proposal in this regard and will send it for approval soon. The applicants will be able to apply for learning license online once we get the approval,” said a department officer.

The applicants currently have to visit respective District Transport Office or Regional Transport Office to get learning license. They are asked to provide answer questions related to road safety and driving. There is no physical driving test involved at this test.

“Since driving test is involved, it doesn’t make sense to force the applicants to visit DTOs or RTOs. They can appear in the road safety test online from the comfort of their homes. By implementing the system, the department is also looking to reduce the crowd of applicants and burden on resources,” said the officer.
