Jaipur: Sony India has launched its flagship corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, “Sony Gyan Setu”, in partnership with the KEDMAN SkillEd Foundation and the Poornima Group of Colleges (PGC), Jaipur. The program was unveiled at the Poornima Institute of Engineering & Technology (PIET) campus and aims to empower underserved communities by equipping youth with industry-relevant skills and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities.

Speaking at the launch, Sanjay Bhatnagar, Vice President and CHRO of Sony India, said the initiative is designed to act as a bridge connecting communities with aspirations and opportunities. He highlighted the collective strength of the collaboration, stating that Sony India’s CSR vision, KEDMAN’s training expertise, and Poornima Group’s academic ecosystem have come together to make a lasting community impact.

In its inaugural year, Sony Gyan Setu will train 216 candidates across three high-demand sectors — healthcare, retail, and beauty & wellness. The training center at the PIET campus has been developed as a model facility equipped with advanced training labs, modern classrooms, and dedicated counseling spaces. The program blends academic guidance with hands-on learning and career counseling to ensure trainees not only acquire skills but also gain access to employment pathways. To strengthen inclusivity, 30 percent of the seats are reserved for women and differently-abled candidates.

Rajiv Mathur, CEO of KEDMAN SkillEd India Foundation, said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to deliver high-quality training, career guidance, and placement support. He noted that the Jaipur center is envisioned as a model that can be replicated across India to scale impact.

Adding to this, Rahul Singhi, Director of the Poornima Group, said that hosting the initiative aligns perfectly with the institution’s mission of integrating education with employability. He emphasized that the collaboration will create a lasting difference in the lives of youth and the broader community.
