Jaipur: Thirty teachers selected through the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET) 2022 recruitment have been booked by the Special Operations Group (SOG) after a preliminary investigation established that they allegedly cleared the examination using proxy or dummy candidates in their place, police said.
FIRs in the two cases were registered at the SOG police station in Jaipur on Friday. The accused are alleged to have used stand-in candidates to appear in the Primary School Teacher Level-1 and Level-2 Direct Recruitment Examination 2022, which was conducted on 25 February 2023, and subsequently secured appointment as teachers on the basis of those fraudulently obtained results.
The fraud came to light during a biometric verification exercise, according to SOG sources. The preliminary inquiry reportedly produced sufficient evidence against all 30 individuals. Cases have been registered under the Indian Penal Code and the Rajasthan Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment Examinations) Act, 2022.
Investigators are now working to identify the gang that arranged the dummy candidates, establish the financial transactions involved, and determine whether there was any collusion within the selection process itself. Further arrests and disclosures are expected as the investigation progresses, SOG officials said.
