Jaipur: One of the five criminals arrested by Rajasthan SOG on Wednesday and Thursday include Dinesh Gujjar who was allegedly involved in opening firing in Behror police station and escaping with hardcore criminal Vikram Gujjar alias Papla. Rajasthan police had announced a cash reward of Rs 50,000 on Papla’s head.

Dinesh – a resident of Mahendragarh district of Haryana – was arrested on Thursday. The policemen who were in the police station during Papla’s daredevil escape would confirm whether he was involved in the shooting or not.

Rajasthan police announced a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh for any information leading to Papla’s arrest. Haryana police have already announced the cash reward as he is one of the most wanted criminals in the neighbouring state.

Haryana STF has rounded up many members of the criminal’s gang. Sources said it has been communicated to Papla through his gang members that he would be killed in an encounter if he didn’t surrender before Rajasthan police.

Rajasthan SOG has arrested 10 members of his gang so far, but the criminal is still at large. Five of the arrested criminals were remanded in judicial custody on Thursday, while a court remanded two men in police custody for interrogation.

A group of about 15 criminals stormed into Behror police station in three vehicles around 8.30 am on September 6.  They were armed with AK-47 guns. They started firing inside the police station indiscriminately. There were 11 policemen including SHO Sugan Singh in the police station at that time. Sugan Singh fired at the criminals, but his gun got jammed. The criminals left with Papla.
