Jaipur: The Rajasthan special operations group (SOG) on Saturday busted a gang involved in duping unemployed youths in rural areas of Jaipur district by promising government jobs and arrested three of its members.
According to ADG SOG Anil Paliwal, the three men have been identified as Hari Prakash, Ramnarayan Jitarwal and Ashish Kumar Gora. Hari Prasad is the former chairman of the Kishangarh Rainwal municipality.
“The gang used several unemployed youths in Jobner, Phulera, Kaladera and other rural areas in Jaipur district by promising them government jobs. The gang members would promise jobs as JVVNL helper, LDC, women supervisor, second grade teacher and Rajasthan police constable etc. They collected a huge amount of money from these youths,” said a senior SOG officer.
The SOG initiated an investigation after one Gokulraj, a resident of Kaladera, registered an FIR against the gang members.
“Hari Prakash would post his photos with senior politicians on social media to make an impression about his contacts. He would dupe unemployed youths by telling them that he could get them recruited through these contacts. He would even give post-dated checks as a guarantee,” said the officer.
“We are interrogating the three men to find out about other members of this gang,” said the officer.
