SMS Hospital-Trauma Center underpass inaugurated; Sneak peek into its beautiful interiors

Jaipur: Rajasthan chief minister Vashundara Raje inaugurated SMS Hospital – Truma Center Underpass on Thursday. Raje too was impressed with its interiors. She said during the inauguration ceremony that the onus of ensuring that the underpass stayed beautiful was on pedestrians. She said that people shouldn’t litter it with garbage or spit.

Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) spent nearly Rs 14.50 crore to construct the SMS-Trauma Center underpass. The design plan was created under the supervision of SMS Medical College principal Dr US Agarwal.

The underpass will make convenient for people to commute between SMS Hospital and the newly constructed Trauma Center. They can buy the medicines also from the shops that have been constructed in the underpass.

JDA has built 22 shops in the underpass. These shops are in demand among pharmacists due to their proximity to SMS Hospital. JDA first auctioned two of the 22 shops. The bids surpassed the JDA’s expectations as the civic body collected more than 10 times the rates it was expecting from the auction, officials said.

JDA had set a reserve price of nearly Rs 2.25 lakh per square meter. In the auction, the successful bidder offered a rate of Rs 32.61 lakh per square meter. With a floor area of nearly 15.92 meters, one shop was sold for Rs 5.19 crore. According to the reserve price set by the officials, the JDA was expecting nearly Rs 47 lakh.
