IPL 2023 matches in Jaipur.

JAIPUR: Excitement is building as the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) draws near. The Rajasthan Royals team is gearing up for the upcoming matches, with plans to practice at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium (SMS) for ten days from March 21 to March 30. To accommodate their training needs, pitch numbers 2, 3, and 7 have been reserved for their use.

The main pitch of the IPL will only be prepared after the team’s practice sessions. This 10-day practice schedule will include both morning and evening sessions, allowing the players to train under different conditions. However, due to the recent rains that have been lashing the city, the pitch has been covered to protect it from the elements. This has made it easier to prepare the pitch for the upcoming matches.

The pitch at SMS has undergone significant wear and tear due to the events held at the stadium. For example, a recent private league held at the venue caused damage to the pitch and ground. As a result, it was necessary to prepare the pitch and ground once again for the upcoming IPL matches.

The Rajasthan Royals are expected to play five matches in Jaipur, and the team is taking steps to ensure that the pitch remains in good condition despite the rainy weather. To prevent weed growth, the groundsmen are spraying fertilizers and insecticides on a daily basis.
