Jaipur: The Smart City project will give a facelift to the Walled City. While preserving its heritage beauty, the project will add many attractive features to it in order to make its markets more convenient for transportation and shopping.
The company tasked with implementing the project has started redesigning Ajmeri Gate. The designs for the stretch between Ajmeri Gate and Chhoti Choupar via Kishanpol Bazaar have been finalized.
At the entrance of Kishanpol Bazaar from MI Road, there will be raised platforms, similar to what you see in front of Amar Jawan Jyoti near state assembly building. People will be able to sit on these raised platforms and enjoy the heritage beauty of the place.
There will be an art gallery also. It will be similar to Amar Jawan Jyoti.
There will be an e-rickshaw stand. People would be able to hire e-rickshaws from there. It will make public transport more convenient and pollution free. Space for car parking has also been earmarked.
