3 women among 6 arrested for sheltering Anandpal Singh in Malasar house

Jaipur: The Rajasthan police’s special operations group (SOG) has arrested six persons, occupants of the house in Malasar village of Churu where Anandpal Singh was hiding for giving shelter to the criminal.

The accused attempted to stop the police from entering the house as some women set in the doorway. Some policemen had to push them into a room and lock them in order to gain entry.

Anandpal was hiding in the house of Shravan Singh who was arrested. Shravan’s wife Raju, son Ajeet, daughter-in-law Om Kanwar, daughter Poonam and one Jagat Singh, a resident of Nohar.

Policemen involved in the encounter said that they were repeatedly asking Ananadpal to surrender, but instead of coming out, he made three women and two youths sit at the entrance gate of the house, using them as a shield. It was for this reason that policemen were not able to enter the house.

In the meantime, Anandpal climbed on the rooftop and opened fire. When policemen tried to force their way into the house, the women started manhandling them. The policemen had to lock them in one of the rooms in the house.

Sohan Singh who was shot at by Anandpal said that he started climbing the stairs to the rooftop and shouted for Anandpal to surrender, but the criminal kept firing. One of the bullets hit Sohan Singh on the waist. He was also firing from his AK-47. One of the bullets hit Anandpal’s head. Sohan Singh also fell on the stairs. A back-up team dragged him out of the house.
