Six arrested for axe-and-rod murder of man who objected to firecrackers being thrown at his car in Kalwad

Jaipur: Kalwad police have arrested six men accused of murdering a man identified as Vinod after he objected to firecrackers allegedly being thrown at his parked car in the Kalwad area of Jaipur West. The arrests were announced in a press note issued on Tuesday by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Jaipur West) Prashant Kiran.
According to the police, the six accused were bursting firecrackers on a street when one of the crackers landed on Vinod’s car, which was parked nearby. When Vinod came out and objected, the group allegedly attacked him with an axe, an iron rod and a pipe, causing injuries that proved fatal.
The men arrested have been identified as Jaysingh son of Bherulal, 57; his son Vishal, 30; Karan son of Manoj, 23; Arjun alias Gagan son of Manoj, 20; Mohit alias Nandu son of Manoj, 18; and Lokesh alias Pawan alias Prahlad son of Sunil, 20. All six are residents of Chhatrapati Shivaji Nagar in Kalwad village under the Kalwad police station limits.
A special team was formed under the supervision of Additional DCP (Jaipur West) Rajesh Gupta and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Jhotwara Circle) Alok Kumar Saini, and led by Kalwad Station House Officer Inspector Suresh Singh. Sub-Inspector Narendra Kumar, along with head constables and constables attached to the station, were part of the team that worked the case.
Police said the accused were identified after minute inspection of the crime scene, scrutiny of CCTV footage from cameras in the area, analysis of technical evidence and inputs from the police’s informant network. The team then tracked their location and carried out the arrests.
Officers added that detailed interrogation of the accused is continuing to establish whether any other persons were involved in the incident.
