One of the shooters has been identified as Rohit Rathore, a resident of Chand Bihari Nagar in Jhotwara.
JAIPUR: The Rajasthan police have identified the two shooters who opened fire at Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi at his residence, killng him on the spot on Tuesday.
According to a report published in a Hindi newspaper, one of the shooters has been identified as a resident of Chand Bihari Nagar in Jhotwara. He has some criminal cases registered against him with the police. One of the cases is related to POCSO Act lodged at Vaishali Nagar police station.
The other shooter hails from Haryana. The police are investigating if Nitin Singh Shekhawat was also an aide of the shooters and helped them gain entry into Gogamedi’s house on Tuesday on the pretext of inviting him to a wedding.
The police are not ruling out the possibility that the shooters wanted to eliminate Nitin so that he couldn’t be used as a witness.
Nitin had made Gogamedi talk to some leaders of the community to gain entry into the house. His mobile phone has been sent for a forensic examination.
The police are trying to find out who Nitin was in contact with in the past few days and how the conspiracy of the murder was hatched.
