Jaipur: A 25-year-old youth, identified as Amit Nayar, was murdered in the presence of his wife and other family members in his house in Karani Vihar area on Wednesday. The police have arrested the parents-in-law and two others. Click on the link below to read more:
Jaipur: Police arrest Amit Nayar’s parents-in-law, aides in honor killing case
Police are investigating the family members’ and friends allegations that an unknown man who came to his house with the parents of his wife opened fire at him. Amit and his wife got married two years ago after a courtship. Amit’s wife Mamta Choudhary stayed in Khatipura, nearly 2 km from his house. They got into a relationship and eventually married. Amit’s friends alleged that his in-laws were opposed to the marriage. Amit and his wife belonged to different castes.

On Wednesday, Mamta’s parents came and told her that they wanted to see Amit who was sleeping inside. She woke him up and informed about her parents. He immediately came out and greeted them. The parents however insisted that he should send Mamta with them. The couple refused. The parents tried to drag Mamta by hair. Mamta started crying and tried to free herself.

Suddenly an unknown man appeared and opened fire. Four bullets pierced Amit’s body.

They fled in a car after the shootout.
Senior police officer rushed to Amit’s house and launched an investigation. The man accused of firing at Amit disappeared, his friends said.
The incident took place in Karani Vihar’s Jagdamba Colony around 8 am.
Amit who has a degree in engineering worked at a private company, a friend told The PinkCity Post.
The family was from Kerala. They settled in Jaipur nearly decade ago.
Amit was rushed to a private hospital profusely bleeding. The private hospital refused to admit him following which the family members rushed her to SMS where he was declared brought dead.
His wife who is pregnant was inconsolable.
The police put up barricades on major intersections in order to nab the suspects.
