Jaipur: The Rajasthan police has stepped up security arrangements in sensitive areas across the state to deal with any law and order situation arising out of the BJP government’s decision to scrap Article 370. Additional police force has been deployed in sensitive areas and SHO of all the police stations across the state have been put on high alert. The leaves of policemen have also been cancelled and they have been asked to join the duty immediately.

There were reports of a minor incident in Kishangarh town of Ajmer district in which some youths were reportedly caught on CCTV shouting slogans ‘Kashmir Hamara Hai’. The police have launched an investigation into the reports and said that no untoward incident happened following the sloganeering.

Senior police officials said that the state was already on high alert as the Independence Day is around the corner. In additional to high security arrangements, the leaves of policemen have been cancelled. Policemen in plain clothes have been deputed at bus stands, railways stations and communally sensitive areas. Searches are being conducted at inns, hotels, restaurants and public places.

The vehicles entering the capital city are being checked.
