Sawaimadhopur: ACB arrests Bank of Baroda manager for taking Rs 20,000 bribe

Jaipur: Rajasthan ACB on Saturday arrested the branch manager of Bank of Baroda in Malarana Dungar of Sawaimadhopur district after he was allegedly caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000. Branch manager, Manoj Meena, was demanding the bribe to issue a loan instalment.
One Murari Lal had approached the ACB and registered a complaint against Manoj Meena. The bank had approved a loan of Rs 3 lakh for a sweet shop nearly five months ago. When the first loan instalment of Rs 1.52 lakh was released, the branch manager demanded Rs 25,000. Mururi paid the money to a middleman.
The branch manager demanded Rs 20,000 for the second instalment. The ACB registered an FIR and laid a trap.
“We verified the complaint and when it was found to be genuine, a trap was laid by the local ACB branch. Manoj was arrested red-handed taking the bribe. He has been booked under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Further investigation is going on,” said an ACB officer. Searches were being carried out at the office, residence and other places belonging to Manoj.
