Ajay Jaitpura, a history sheeter, had sustained three bullet injuries and died of excessive bleeding. The broad daylight murder of Ajay Jaitpura – a gangster who had more than three dozen criminal cases registered against him has raised serious question marks over the law and order situation in Rajasthan.
Unidentified men had opened fire in Sadulpur court of Churu district on Wednesday afternoon, leaving Ajay Jaitpura and his lawyer critically injured. Jaitpura was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to injuries, sources said. The police have however not confirmed the death.
The gang wars between rival gangs have been a headache for the Churu.
In January, 2016, the Churu police had arrested one Sonu who was planning to murder Ajay Jaitpura and a few other criminals in the area.
Ajay Jaitpura had been arrested by Churu police in February, 2016. He was carrying a cash reward of Rs 10,000 on his head.
At the time of his arrest, he had 34 cases registered against him with Churu, Jhunjhunu and Haryana police. He was staying in a rented accommodation in Jaipur from where he was nabbed.
