Sachin Pilot, Ashok Gehlot to contest Rajasthan assembly election 2018
Speaking in the press conference at Delhi, Ashok Gehlot said that he and Sachin Pilot will both fight in assembly elections this time. They will make sure that their party comes to power with majority.

Jaipur: Rajasthan Congress President Sachin Pilot and former CM Ashok Gehlot will contest the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly elections 2018. The announcement was made in a press conference held at AICC office in Delhi on Wednesday. The first list of Congress nominees for elections is yet to be released.
According to the sources, the list was getting delayed as it took the party high command a lot of time in deciding whether Pilot and Gehlot should contest the election or not.
Speaking in the press conference at Delhi, Ashok Gehlot said that he and Sachin Pilot will both fight in assembly elections this time. They will make sure that their party comes to power with majority.
After Gehlot, Pilot also confirmed about contesting the Rajasthan assembly election which are scheduled on December 7.
The senior leaders at the press conference have not cleared as to who will become the CM candidate of the party if the congress comes to power.
The Congress party also welcomed the new member from the BJP in the party, Harish Chandra Meena and made an official announcement of him joining the party on Monday.

Dausa MP Harish Meena is a retired Indian Police Service (IPS) officer and former director general of police (DGP). He entered politics and joined Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2014.
Congress leaders including Sachin Pilot, Avinash Pandey, Ashok Gehlot and others were present at the press conference.
