The police have said that vehicles with posters and banners will not be allowed into the campus. The RU administration will issue entry passes to vehicles. People who are not RU students will not be allowed to enter the premises.

Police had a dialogue with student leaders on Friday and warned them not to operate election-related activities from outside the campus. Student leaders were asked not to set up offices outside RU campus to run election-related activities. Police officials said that they would keep an eye on people who are not RU students, but are used for election campaigns.

RU’s dean of student welfare Bharat Lal Gupta said that vehicles would be given entry passes. Vehicles which didn’t have these passes won’t be allowed entry. IDs of students will be checked to ensure that people who are not RU students are not able to enter the campus.

The dates for elections are yet to be announced.

The entire election process – from nomination and election campaigns to result announcement will be completed in less than two weeks. The measure has been taken to ensure that academic activities are not affected by elections. It will also reduce chances of ruckus.
