RU paper leaks: SOG arrests coaching institute owner

Jaipur: Special operations group (SOG) on Sunday arrested a coaching institute owner in connection with their ongoing probe into the Rajasthan University (RU) paper leak case. The coaching institute is Lekha Commerce Classes situated in Jaipur’s Lalkothi area. Sources said that interrogation with owners of nearly half a dozen coaching institute is undergoing. A total of 19 people have been arrested since SOG busted a network of RU professors, college lecturers and employees of RU secrecy cell on Monday.

Senior SOG officials said that the Atishya Jain (29), owner of Lekha Commerce Classes, was involved in leaking commerce examination papers to students of the institute.
The SOG had on Saturday arrested deputy registrar of Rajasthan University MC Gupta. Gupta had allegedly tried to get question paper from a paper setter.
In protest of the arrests by SOG in the matter, the RU professors announced that they wouldn’t set papers and evaluate examination copies.
Some associations of RU teachers announced that RU professors would boycott works related to continuous arrests.
“SOG is acting in an arbitrary manner. Not all the teachers arrested in the matter are guilty. The phone records don’t show exchange of money. Given the currency circumstances, professors are not feeling comfortable while doing works related to examinations,” said Dr Jayant Singh, the president of one of the associations.
