RU election: Counting of votes to take place on September 4

Jaipur: Rajasthan University (RU) administration has made all necessary preparations for counting of votes and declaring winners in the student union elections on September 4.
A meeting of counting committee was held in the RU on Thursday. While the counting of votes for apex panel will take place in the university premises, the same for other candidates will take place in respective constituent colleges.
Counting committee coordinator Professor SL Sharma said that the counting will begin from 1 pm on September 4 and will continue till all the results are in.
“We have made all the preparations. Those who contested in the elections have been issued entry passes. Entry won’t be allowed without passes and ID cards,” said Sharma.
Police have also made elaborate arrangements.
Officials said that they wouldn’t allow any victory processions outside the university or anywhere in the city.
“It leads to law and order situations and cause traffic jams. So we have decided to prevent students from gathering. Strick action will be taken against violators,” said a senior police officer.
