Jaipur: Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Jaipur has finally launched the facility for people to obtain learning licenses online. The applicants will not have to visit RTO and wait in queues. The test will also be conducted only. It will take less than 20 minutes. The applicant will physically visit RTO for a driving test only when applying for the permanent license, officials said.
The applicant will need to visit the transport department website and submit their application for a learning license online. An Aadhar-based identification verification will be conducted through e-KYC. The applicant will receive a one-time password (OTP). Once the identity has been verified, the applicant will provide other details such as date of birth and permanent address. The applicant will then be prompted to deposit the fee.
“After the fee is deposited, the application will watch a 12-minute video explaining traffic rules. For the online test, the applicant will receive an application number and password which will be used for appearing in an online test. The online test will contain 20 questions. The answers to at least 12 questions must be correct in order to pass the test. The applicant will need to appear in the test within seven days of receiving the application number and password. The applicant would need to deposit the fee again if the test was not cleared in seven days,” said a senior transport officer.
The officer added that the applicant will be able to download learning license with an OTP.
