Jaipur: Rajasthan special operations group (SOG) has arrested an RPS officer, identified as Vijay Sehra, for his alleged connivance with mining mafia. The RPS officer was called in for questioning on Wednesday. SOG arrested him after interrogating him for two hours.

SOG officials said that Vijay Sehra was deputed in Dubu as deputy SP. During his tenure in Dudu, there were allegations that he was hand in glove with mining mafia. He was put on awaiting posting orders after the allegations and an investigation was launched against him by the SOG. Three cases were registered against him with Dudu and Phagi police stations. The cases were handed over to SOG for investigation.

On June 6, a head constable, Kaluram, lodged a complaint stating that a truck carrying illegally-mined gravel was intercepted and seized in Dudu. The truck driver, Narayan Singh, was arrested. A jeep escorting the truck was also seized. Two men travelling in the truck – Omveer and Mahendra Singh – were taken into custody. During interrogation with them, the name of RPS Vijay Sehra, came up. This revelation led to an exposure of nexus between the RPS officer and mining mafia. He was immediately put on awaiting posting orders. His role also came under scanner after some trucks were seized in Phagi area.
