Robert Vadra reappears before ED for questioning in Jaipur

Jaipur: Robert Vadra – brother in law of Congress president Rahul Gandhi- was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Jaipur on Wednesday morning in connection with the Bikaner land scam and money laundering case.
According to the sources, the ED team was not satisfied with Vadra’s answers on Tuesday during the nine-hour-long questioning and hence called him again for the second round on Wednesday.
Most of Vadra’s responses were ‘I have no information/knowledge in this regard’, sources said.
Vadra’s lawyer Suman Jyoti Khaitan earlier told the media persons that questioning will resume with Robert Vadra on Wednesday morning at ED office.

The questioning started at 10:30 am and went on till 8:30 pm on Tuesday. An hour break was given for lunch. Vadra’s mother was asked a few questions too in connection with the case. The officials allowed her leave at 12:30 pm.
Robert Vadra was questioned at Delhi three times in past in another money laundering case pertaining to buying a property worth Rs 17 crore in the UK.
In 2015, tehsildar of Bikaner registered a complaint about alleged forgery in the allotment of land in the area that borders Pakistan. FIRs were registered with the Rajasthan police. The ED wanted to question Vadra about the operations of a firm — Skylight Hospitality Private Limited — allegedly linked to him, which had purchased land in the area.
