Robbery at jeweller’s house in Kota: Woman, daughter brutally murdered
The woman identified as Gayatri Devi – the wife of a jeweller – and Palak (18) were alone in the house as other family members had gone out to attend a function.
Jaipur: A woman and her 18-year-old daughter were brutally killed suspectedly by a gang of robbers in Kota on Thursday night. The woman identified as Gayatri Devi – the wife of a jeweller – and Palak (18) were alone in the house as other family members had gone out to attend a function.
When they returned home, they found the bodies. The robbers attacked the victims with iron rods, police said.
The house of Rajendra Vijay is situated in Station Road area of Kota. His wife Gayatri and daughter Palak were found lying in a pool of blood when Rajendra returned home from the function. Both the victims had wound marks on their heads. Police officials said that they were repeatedly hit on their heads with iron rods.
It has come up during preliminary investigation that the mother-daughter duo was killed by people who had barged into the house for robbery. However it was yet to be ascertained what items were robbed from the house.
Tenants live in the rear portion of the house, but the robbery didn’t come to their notice. An FSL examination of the spot was conducted.
“The robbers took away the CCTVs and DVRs. There were cameras installed in the house,” said a police officer.
The police are trying to identify the robbers.
