Robbers uproot ATM in Jamwaramgarh, police clueless

Jaipur: Another incident of robbers uprooting an ATM in Jamwaramgarh area of Jaipur has embarrassed the cops early on Wednesday. The ATM of Punjab National Bank was installed in Khawaraniji village.

According to preliminary reports, there was a cash amount of Rs 20 lakh in the ATM. The police are studying the CCTV footages to identify the robbers.

The incident occurred around 1.40 am on Wednesday.

The robbers used a vehicle to uproot the ATM and flee the spot.

Senior police officers including add SP Gyanchand Yadav inspected the spot. A forensic examination was also performed. A dog squad was called in. Bank officials also arrived at the spot.

Sources said that the ATM robbery was caught on CCTV installed in the cabin. The police have obtained the footages and are trying to trace the robbers.

Police barricades were put up on all exit routes.

Several incidents of ATMs being uprooted by robbers have reported in the state. Despite repeated request by the police for stepping up security arrangements at the ATMs, the banks have paid no heed.

“We are looking for the robbers. Investigation is continuing,” said a police officer.
