Ring Road project: Settlement committee submits report, MoU to be signed soon

Jaipur: The settlement committee formed to settle the claim between a private company and Jaipur Development Authority in the Ring Road Project has submitted its report to the Rajasthan government.

Based on the report submitted to the urban development minister Srichand Kriplani, claims for the company and the JDA will be determined. The claim will be settled by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) as per the agreement with the JDA.

The committee headed by retired judge Sunil Kumar Garg was formed on March 30 and submitted its report after 97 days. In order to settle the dispute between the JDA and the private company – Sanjose Supreme Tollways that was earlier entrusted with the Ring Road Project development. Union minister Nitin Gadkari himself had come to Jaipur to settle the dispute between the two parties. The settlement committee was formed after his intervention. None of the two parties will be able to challenge the claim decided by the settlement committee.

Senior urban development department officials said that an empowered committee meeting will take place in the next seven days.

The MoU will be signed with NHAI after this meeting.

JDA had submitted a claim of Rs 7043 crore on the company. The JDA was rebuked for submitting such a hefty claim. It was amended and brought down to Rs 180 crore.

On the other hand, the private company has submitted a claim of Rs 566 crore.
