RCA polls 2019: Vaibhav Gehlot not included in election officer’s voter list

Jaipur: While Vaibhav Gehlot – son of chief minister Ashok Gehlot – is all set to fight for the post of president in RCA elections, his name didn’t figure on the list of voters released by election officer TS Krishnamurthy.
The election officer released the revised election schedule and the voters list on Thursday. No changes have been made to the voters list which was released on August 24, so the name of Vaibhav Gehlot who was elected treasurer of Rajsamand District Cricket Association on September 9 was not included in the voters list.
Now Vaibhav Gehlot can fight the election if Rajsamand cricket association submits an objection to the voters list and this objection is entertained by the election officer.
RCA joint secretary Mahendra Nahar, however, released another voters list on Thursday. In this list, the name of Vaibhav Gehlot has been included.
As per the election schedule released by the election officer Krishnamurthy, the elections will be conducted on September 27; however, joint secretary Nahar backed by the CP Joshi fraction said that the election would be conducted on October 4.
“The BCCI approved RCA constitution on September 9. The election can be held within 21 days of this. So we are planning to hold the elections on October 4,” said an RCA officer.
The ban on the RCA was imposed by the BCCI in 2014. The RCA has been trying to get the ban lifted for the past five years. When CP Joshi was elected the president of RCA, he said that his first priority would be to get the ban lifted.
