RCA elections: Who will fight against Lalit Modi’s son Ruchir?

RCA elections to take place on April 26, candidates for only six posts in the fray.

Jaipur: RCA elections are scheduled to take place on April 26. While Lalit Modi’s son Ruchir Modi is in the fray for the top post, speculations are rife over who he will be pitted against. A fraction in RCA is trying to persuade Congress leader CP Joshi to contest for the post of president. Some other names which are doing the rounds are Rampal Sharma who has fought against Lalit Modi previously, Lakshyaraj Singh, Mahendra Sharma, Mohammed Iqbal and Sanyam Lodha.

Election officer AK Pandey has released the schedule of the election for six posts including president, vice president, secretary, joint secretary, treasurer and an executive member.

The process for the election will start on April 11. the election process would likely begin as soon as April 11. RCA will release the final voter list on April 17 after hearing objections. The nominations will be filed between April 21 and April 23. The final list of contestants will be released on April 24.

In the previous elections, candidates were in the fray for a total 21 posts.

All district associations have been notified of the election date. The name of Ruchir Modi has figured in the list of likely candidates for the post of president after he visited Jaipur recently and held a meeting of district secretaries. Ruchir is currently the president of Alwar District Association.
