Jaipur: The ban on mobile internet services will continue in 14 police stations areas of Jaipur on Tuesday. The police and administration have also decided not to lift the curfew, but a few hours of relaxation may be given, officials said. Schools and other educational institutes will remain closed.

Curfew had been imposed in some parts of Jaipur after a group of people clashed with police in Ramganj area. Two men were killed, while several others were injured in the clashes.

Divisional commissioner Rajeshwar Singh issued an order in this regard. The ban on internet services in 14 police station areas including Galta Gate, Nahargarh, Ashok Nagar, Jyoti Nagar, Kho Nagaurian, Subhash Chowk, Manak Chowk, Ramganj, Brahmpuri, Shashtri Nagar and Lalkothi will continue till midnight on Tuesday.

As per the orders, 2G, 3G and 4G mobile internet, bulk SMS, WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter and other social media channels will not work till 11.59 pm on Tuesday.

The curfew will continue in four police stations areas including Ramganj, Manak Chwok, Subhash Chowk and Galta Gate.

“We will consider giving relaxation for a few hours on Tuesday also,” said a senior police officer.

On Friday, a mob touched a power house and five vehicles including an ambulance in a frenzy created by a minor incident of a youth being hit with a stick by a police constable of Ramganj police station.

The mob hurled stones on the police station and damaged more than 20 vehicles. The police fired tear gas and fired in the air to disperse the crowd. Curfew was imposed in the jurisdictional area of four police stations – Ramganj, Manak Chwok, Subhash Chowk and Galta Gate – in the city.
