Jaipur: A day after Rajgarh SHO Vishnu Dutt Bishnoi committed suicide, his brother – Sandeep Bishnoi – registered an FIR with Rajgarh police station alleging that the SHO was feeling trapped and depressed due to ‘dirty politics’ and the pressure caused him to take the extreme step.

The FIR has been registered under IPC sections pertaining to inciting someone to commit suicide. The case has been handed over to SP crime branch Vikas Sharma for further investigation.

The FIR came a day after the SHO committed suicide by hanging himself in his residential quarter on the premises of Rajgarh police station in Churu district in Rajasthan. He left two suicide notes – one addressed to his parents, while the other addressed to SP Churu. In a WhatsApp chat with an acquaintance, SHO Bishnoi had allegedly mentioned that he felt trapped in dirty politics and was not able to bear the stress that it was causing him.

Senior police officers said that an investigation has been launched though the SHO has not held anyone responsible in the suicide notes.

All members of the Rajgarh police station staff wrote a letter to the Bikaner range IG demanding that they be transferred from the police station. They accused a woman MLA and her workers of using her clout to pressurize them and making false complaints to senior officers against them.

The policemen said that they were scared and unable to fulfil their duties after the SHO ended his life.

The body of SHO Vishnudutt Vishnoi was consigned to flames at his native place in Sriganganagar district on Sunday. Hundreds of local residents lined the road leading to the cremation centre and showered flowers on the ambulance that brought the body to the village. They also shouted slogans.
