Jaipur: Rajasthan is set to launch an e-auction for mineral blocks in Jaisalmer, Kota, and Sawaimadhopur districts. The notification will cover limestone and lead-zinc blocks across these regions, aiming to boost mining operations and attract investment.
The e-auction will include limestone blocks such as Parewar (SN&III) and Parewar (SN&IV) in Jaisalmer, along with the Ninama-Duniya Extension in Kota. In Sawaimadhopur, the lead-zinc block at Chauth ka Barwara will also go under the hammer.
In the 2023-24 fiscal year, the state auctioned 31 major mineral blocks, earning revenue of Rs 7,460 crore. Employment opportunities in the mining sector have also increased, with approximately 35 lakh people benefiting directly or indirectly.
The state government’s recent policy measures, including the Rajasthan Mineral Policy 2024 and the M-Sand Policy 2024, have created a favourable environment for investment. These initiatives aim to increase the mining sector’s contribution to the state GDP from 3.4% to 5% by 2029-30 and to 8% by 2046-47.
The e-auction is expected to attract investment and generate new employment opportunities. By prioritizing technological advancements such as drone surveys and single-window solutions, the government aims to make mining operations more efficient and sustainable. The initiative reflects the state’s commitment to enhancing revenue, employment, and sustainable development in the mining sector.
