Rajasthan student union elections 2018 schedule: All you need to know
More than 10 lakh students from 15000 colleges of 14 government universities will participate in the student union elections of 2018 as estimated.

Jaipur: The Rajasthan student union elections of 2018 will be conducted in two phases across all the universities in the state. The voting will take place in all the universities Rajasthan University (RU) in Jaipur, Mohanlal Sukhadia University (MLSU) in Udaipur and Maharshi Dayanand Sarswati University (MDSU) in Ajmer on August 31 in the state except JNVU of Jodhpur, where the polling will take place on September 10, said Kiran Maheshwari on Monday.

The ballot paper-based elections will be conducted for four posts — president, vice-president, secretary and joint- secretary — from 8 am to 1 pm and the results will be announced for the two phases on September 11.
Elections usually happen on August 24 every year across the state. This time it was delayed by seven days due to the demise of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee on August 16. The central government had declared seven days of national mourning in the country.
Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje’s Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra will be held from August 24 to September 2 in Jodhpur division. The decision to conduct the polls in Jodhpur in the second phase was taken by the education department to order situation and to ensure any clash during Yatra in Jodhpur.
The voter list will be published on August 23 in the state. Objections on the voter list will be accepted till August 24. The final voter list will come out on the same day.
Student leaders will be able to file nominations by August 25. The nomination papers will be checked and objections on them will be received. The final list of candidates will come out on August 27.
Nominations could be withdrawn by 2 pm on August 27. The final list of candidates fighting the election will come out by 5 pm on August 27. The voting will take place from 8 am to 1 pm on August 31. The counting of votes and results will be announced on September 11 for the two phases.
