Rajasthan Student Union Election – 2019 schedule: Everything you need to know

Jaipur: The higher education department on Wednesday released the schedule for Rajasthan Student Union Election 2019. According to the election schedule, the voting will take place on August 27 in a single phase, while the counting of votes will take place the next day on August 20. The counting will begin at 11 am. The elections are being conducted in one phase so that classes don’t get disrupted and the law enforcement agencies don’t have to dedicate more resources than what is necessary.

“The election process will begin on August 19. All the universities including Rajasthan University, Mohanlal Sukhadia University (Udaipur) Jai Narain Vyas University (JNVU- Jodhpur) and Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University (MDSU –  Ajmer) and their constituent colleges will go to polls on August 27. The voting will take place simultaneously across the state, ” said a senior higher education department officer.

Here is the complete schedule of Rajasthan Student Union Elections – 2019:

August 19: Publication of voter lists

August 20: the last date for submission of objections on voter lists

August 21: The final publication of voters list

August 22: The last date for nominations

August 22: The last date for submitting objections on nominations

August 23: Publication of the final list of candidates

August 23: Last date of withdrawing nominations

August 23: The last date for releasing the final list of candidates

August 27: Voting

August 28: Counting of votes

August: Results to be announced.

The student leaders and their supporters have about 20 days for campaigning.

Some student leaders have already started campaigning at Rajasthan University and its constituent colleges including Rajasthan College, Maharaja College, Maharani College and Commerce College.

The police have stepped up security arrangements. JMC teams are also keeping an eye on student leaders and their supporters who are indulging in defacing public properties with election materials such as posters and banners. The police on Wednesday seized over 20 vehicles for carrying campaigning material and sticks.

The Rajasthan University administration served notices on 12 student leaders for defacing public properties in and around the Rajasthan University campus.
