Rajasthan: Retired army captain arrested for duping unemployed youths

Jaipur: Deeg police in Bharatpur district has arrested a retired army captain identified as Dharmapal, alias D. P. Singh, for duping youths on the pretext of getting them jobs in the army. The police have seized two diaries with details of this fraudulent activities. Bharatpur is hosting an army recruitment camp.

The diaries recovered by the police have details of the transactions as well names of candidates from whom money was taken. Police had received information that someone at Singh Pole Gate in Deeg was offering people an entry into the army recruitment camp and charging them. Singh, a 67-year-old resident of Agra, was arrested from this location and taken to the police station. Police have confirmed that Singh charged about 2-3 lakhs per candidate and offered them a job through the army recruitment camp.

Singh’s two diaries also have contact details, addresses and batch numbers of candidates participating in the recruitment program at Bharatpur. It also mentions details of candidates who have passed in the medical exam. A transaction of Rs 2.50 lakhs has also finds. Dharmapal Singh has claimed that he is a retired captain of Army and currently the secretary of National Lok Dal Party, Agra.
