Jaipur: The number of active Covid-19 cases in Rajasthan has gone down to 57. With this, Rajasthan has the second-lowest count of active cases in the country after Bihar. There are only 37 active cases in Bihar. It has come as a big relief to the state health department amid fears of a third wave of Covid-19 looming large in the near future.

Jaipur has 15 active cases – the highest in Rajasthan. On Monday, at least 20 districts didn’t report any new Covid-19 cases in the state.

The health and medical experts have warned that it has become very important to follow the Covid-19 guidelines including social distancing. They said that people shouldn’t venture out of homes without masks.

The festive season will begin on October 7. Experts said that people should not forget about the pandemic when celebrating festivities.

“The people are protected due to the herd immunity. The vaccination program has also contributed to controlling the spread of the virus. But, some countries have reported new variants of the virus so it’s very important to exercise caution. People shouldn’t form crowds in the market. They should maintain social distancing and wear masks properly at public places all the time,” said Dr. Raman Sharma, senior professor at SMS Medical College in Jaipur. The state reported 232 Covid-19 cases in September.
