Jaipur: The Rajasthan government is all set to allow religious places and multiplexes to open. Markets would also be allowed to remain open till evening. The ban on organizing weddings may be lifted with certain restrictions. The government is planning to ease the lockdown restrictions as there are only 2019 active cases of Covid-19 in the state. The decision to relax restrictions will likely be taken in a cabinet meeting scheduled to take place on Friday evening.
The home department has prepared a new guideline for the lockdown restrictions. The guidelines have been sent to chief minister Ashok Gehlot for a review. Gehlot who would preside over the cabinet meeting is expected to announce the relaxations.
As per the guidelines, temples, mosques and other religious places will be allowed to open. Currently, the markets are allowed to open from 6 am to 4 pm. Sources said that this restriction might be lifted and the markets will be allowed to open till late evening.
Wedding and social functions are currently banned in the state. The government is planning to lift the ban; however, might put a cap on the maximum number of people allowed to attend the functions.
The government offices may also be allowed to open with 100% attendance.
The government had sought a detailed seating arrangement report from multiplexes and theatres. Many of them have already submitted the reports.
