Rajasthan: Pregnant woman among 4 killed in tragic road accident in Ajmer’s Kekari

Jaipur: In a 5-vehcile pile up, four people including a pregnant woman and her husband were killed, while nearly 12 others were injured in Kekari area of Ajmer district on Thursday. The SUV the victims were travelling got caught in the pile-up when another car lost balance in an attempt to avoid collision with an overspeeding bike.
The incident took place outside Government College near Kekari.
“A bike was overspeeding. A Tavera car attempted to avoid collision and lost balance. It caused a Bolero and three motorcycles to ram into each-other. Nearly 12 people were injured in the mishap and four others were killed. Three of the victims were from one family,” said a police officer.
Those killed were identified as Mona Kanwar, her husband Shivraj and Shivraj’s 5-year-old nephew Indrajeet Singh. The fourth victim was a pilgrim Deenkhan.
Mona was being taken to a hospital for child delivery. She was having labour pains.
The injured were rushed to a government hospital in Kekari. Of them, five were rushed to JLN Hospital in Ajmer due to their critical condition.
Local residents helped the police with the rescue operation.
The police have launched an investigation to ascertain the cause of the mishap.
