Rajasthan polls: ‘Voter Guide’ to be distributed in households to increase voter participation

Jaipur: The Election Commission of India has come up with a new initiative to aware and increase the participation of voters in Rajasthan Assembly elections 2018.
The commission has published ‘Voter Guide’ book which will offer all the details ranging from ‘how to vote’ to ‘how to choose the right candidate’ with pictorial representations.
The copies of the ‘Voter Guide’ book will be distributed in households across the state. The distribution in 13 lakh households at Jaipur district will start from November 29.
The Voter Guide has all the necessary information including how to vote, how to choose the right candidate, how to reach the nearest polling booth during elections, how to check names in the voters list, some steps to follow during polls, all the details of the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM), details about model code of conduct, what not to do after the model code of conduct comes into force and much more with pictorial representation.
The guide will be very useful for the first-time voters in the upcoming assembly election, which is scheduled for December 7, officials said. The results of the election will come out on December 11.
Also, the election commission has introduced an election helpline – 1950. All the inquiry, complaints and information regarding elections can be obtained by calling up this number.
