Rajasthan: NSUI election 2017 results cancelled amid complaints of rigging and misconduct

Jaipur: NSUI election 2017 results for Rajasthan have been withdrawn after complaints of rigging and miscount reached Congress national vice-president Rahul Gandhi.
A probe has been ordered into the complaints made by candidates who were defeated in the election. The results will be re-announced after the probe is completed. A team of retired election commissioner will conduct the investigation.
The voting for NSUI elections was completed on June 17 and the results were announced three days a later. Abhimanyu Poonia was elected as president. Other candidates including Hussain Sultania, Abhishek Choudhary, Randeep, Kuldeep Poonia, Ajay Kasva, Ajeet Dara and Pradeep Dara registered complaints about rigging and misconduct about Congress high command in Delhi.
Three candidates who fought for the posts of national delegates also complained to national election incharge Girish and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi.
Some photos showing election commissioner Raghav Singhla hanging out with Abhimanyu Poonia went viral on social media. Besides, there were allegations that Abhimanyu got many bogus votes registered. There had been complaints of rigging in Bharatpur and Sriganganagar.
The candidates demanded that the election results and Abhimanyu’s nomination be cancelled.
NSUI election in charge and AICC secretary Girish Chodankar said that the results announced on June 20 wouldn’t be valid till a probe was completed into these complaints.
