Jaipur: A Rajasthan MLA allegedly caught an enforcement inspector of food supply department taking bribe in the state’s Dausa town. Dr Kirori Lal Meena, MLA from Dausa’s Lalsot constituency and the chief of National People’s Party, did a sting operation and claimed that he caught enforcement inspector Kanhaiya Lal taking a bribe of Rs 47,000. The inspector however said that it was a conspiracy against him.

Kanhaiya Lal and a dealer identified as Sanjay Meena were sitting in a car at the gate of Dausa collectorate building when Kirori Lal Meena reached there with media persons. He pulled the inspector out of the car. Dealer Meena told the media persons that the inspector took bribe money from him.

The MLA checked the dashboard of the car and found the cash.

The inspector alleged that he had been set up by the dealer.

“There was a complaint against the dealer. I was under pressure to act in favour of the dealer while investigating the complaint. He forcefully got into my car and then put the money,” said the inspector.

The MLA asked the inspector to hand over the alleged bribe money, but he didn’t, Meena called up the district collector. Officials from the food supply department reached the spot.
