Jaipur: Congress MLA from Pratapgarh Ramlal Meena received a threat on Facebook. Someone left a comment on the Facebook Wall of local BJP leader Prahlad Gurjar in which the man threatened to shoot Meena.

Expressing anguish over the incident, Congress workers staged a demonstration at the local district collector office and handed over a memorandum to the district collector. They alleged that the threat was issued at the behest of the BJP leader. They even accused him of creating a bogus Facebook profile and posting the comment himself. The BJP leader refuted the allegations.

Ramlal Meena is the legislator from Pratapgarh. Someone using the Facebook profile of a man, identified by the police as Avadhoot Yogi left a comment in Hindi on the Facebook wall of a local BJP leader in which he said, ‘If the MLA disturbed you, he wouldn’t even know where the bullet would hit him. If you want, we can have him shot dead’.

The BJP leader said that he didn’t have anything to do with the past. He has not created any bogus ID and has not issued any threats. He said that the probe would reveal the truth.

A senior police officer said that an FIR has been registered in this regard and the investigation has been launched. The police are trying to trace the man on the basis of the IP address.
