Rajasthan ‘Love Jihad’ murder case: Accused Shambhu Lal’s another video goes viral

Jaipur: Shambhu Lal who shocked the country after a video showing him brutally hacking to death a 50-year-old Muslim man went viral in December last year has come up with another video. Lodged in the Jodhpur Central Jail, he shot a video of himself claiming that his life was in danger. He said that his fellow inmates could murder him.

The latest video is also getting circulated on social media channels. It has come as big embarrassment to the administration. Searches were carried out in Jodhpur Central Jail on Monday after the video which was reportedly shot a few days ago came to the light.

No one in the prisons department has authenticated the existence of such a video. Senior department officers from Jaipur rushed to Jodhpur Central Jail and ordered an inspection. Sources said that some mobiles were seized from the prison barracks during the inspections, however it was yet unclear if any video was seized from the barrack of Shambhu Lal.

Murder accused Shambhu Lal

Shabhu Lal is lodged in a high security barrack, but he claimed that the man he is lodged with is from West Bengal, the same state the victim who was murdered in the name of Love Jihad by Shambhu Lal belonged to. Shambhu Lal says that the inmate wanted to kill him.

In December, Shambhu Lal Reger repeatedly attacked 50-year-old Afrazul, a construction worker with a shovel, brutally killing him. He then poured inflammable substance on the body and put it on fire. Shambhu Lal even shot a video of himself while talking about Love Jihad and patriotism.

Shambhu Lal took Afrazul to an agriculture farm, just 700 meters from the Rajsamand district collector office where he carried out the heinous murder. The farm belongs to the murder accused.
