Rajasthan: Hindaun City SDM and his reader arrested for taking bribe

Jaipur: Rajasthan anti corruption bureau (ACB) on Friday arrested the sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) of Hindaun City in Karauli district, Ramchandra Meena and his reader Lalluram for taking a bribe of Rs 80,000. Lalluram was allegedly caught red-handed taking the bribe. ACB officials said that he was acting on behalf of Ramchandra Meena.
IG, ACB VK Singh said that one Kaptan Singh approached the agency and made a complaint against Ramchandra Meena.
“The complainant said that he had a case registered against him with Kotwali police station in Hindaun City. Ramchandra Meena was demanding a bribe of Rs 2.80 lakh to help him in the case. Meena had already taken Rs 2 lakh,” said IG Singh.
The officer said the ACB verified the complaint and then laid the trap.
“Lallu Ram was caught red-handed when our complainant handed over the bribe to him. After his interrogation, Ramchandra Meena was also arrested. Both were booked under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Further investigation is going on,” said the officer.
Searches were carried out at several places belonging to the two arrested men.
