Rajasthan: Government officers to be suspended immediately in corruption cases

Jaipur: The Rajasthan government will suspend government officials and employees who are caught red-handed taking bribe by anti-corruption bureau (ACB). The departmental action will also initiate immediately. The state government’s department of personnel has issued circular in this regard in compliance with a Rajasthan high court order.
The department’s joint secretary Avdesh Singh appeared before the Rajasthan high court Justice Banwari Lal Sharma and informed him about the circular.
“As per the circular, the departmental action will be completed within six months of the accused officer or employee getting bail in the case. A copy of the circular has been sent to all the departments,” said public prosecutor Sudesh Saini.
The high court had sought an explanation over the delay in departmental action against government officials and employees who are caught red-handed in corruption cases. The enquiry is kept pending for a long time. The court had asked the department of personnel secretary to be present to provide an explanation, but since he was on leave, IAS Sanjay Malhotra appeared in the court.
