Rajasthan: Doctor arrested for taking bribe of Rs 8,000
The doctor was demanding a bribe to prepare a favorable medical report in a police case.

Jaipur: Rajasthan anti-corruption bureau (ACB) arrested a doctor, working as a medical jurist at a government hospital in Kaurali’s Hindaun City was arrested after he was caught taking a bribe of Rs 8,000 for preparing a favorable medical report in a criminal case.
ACB allegedly trapped Dr Amar Singh Meena red-handed taking the bribe from the agency’s complainant. The doctor was booked under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and arrested.
According to ACB officials, one Vijay Singh had registered a complaint with the agency when medical jurist, Dr Amar Singh Meena demanded a bribe.
“Dr Meena told our complainant that he would prepare a favourable medical report in a case of violence,” said an ACB officer.
After registering the complaint, an investigation was launched and the allegations of bribe were verified.
The complainant was sent to Dr Meena with the bribe and as soon as he handed it over to the doctor, the ACB team showed up and placed him under custody.
“The doctor is being questioned. Further investigation is going on. As part of our probe, searches are being carried out at his office in the hospital, residence and other places belonging to him. He would be produced in a court,” said the officer.
Meena had taken Rs 4,000 earlier which helped ACB verify the complaint. He accepted another Rs 4,000 on Friday when he was caught red-handed.
